Jocelyn, Marthe. Over Under. Illustrated by Tom Slaughter. Book Review.

This book features big and small, not at all, short and tall, over and under, up and down, inside and outside, country in town, above and below, square and round, black and white, and day and night.

The illustrations are bright solid shapes, often silhouettes. The animals have no expression and the book has no tension. I tried twice to interest my 22-month-old granddaughter in it but she quickly became bored. She does like books of opposites but this one was just too dull.

There are a lot better books out there on antonyms.
