Milich, Zoran. City Signs. Book Review.

This book contains photographs of words found around the community such as ice cream, enter, lifeguard, and bus stop. The words are on vehicles, buildings, people, containers, and signs. The quality of the photographs is good, but the image is often cluttered.

I hoped this book would interest my granddaughter in a discussion about signs, but she may have been too young to understand the concept. Then again, the book largely depends on adult input. It may interest a child who is beginning to read and would like to be able to identify the words.

There is no story, continuity or thread of any kind. The words are random.

I think more could have been done with this concept.
