May, Amelia. The Little Ladybug. Book Review.

This is a simple little story about a ladybug trying to find a friend. The bee’s too busy. The butterfly isn’t interested. The aphids mock him. In the end, the ladybug makes a friend by helping a lost ant.

I like the message in this book. If you want to have a friend who’s caring, fun, and kind, then be caring, fun, and kind to others. This would be a good book to read to a 4 to 6-year-old who wants to make more friends.

The illustrations are very simple but they work. We understand clearly how the lady bug is feeling.

The rhyming scheme breaks down in spots. This part needs revision.
